Class Picture of Me at Age 10

My fifth grade teacher gave students rewards for reading in their spare time; I read over 20,000 pages that year. I think fifth grade may have been the first year I earned all A's. That continued until my last semester in high school. I received a lot of respect in school, as people could clearly see the results I produced. My elementary school even passed an official resolution declaring "Irene Cardenas Day," believe it or not!
